A Passion For Wood
About Dave
From an early age, Dave demonstrated an extraordinary talent for Woodworking, sparked by a transformative grade eight class where he crafted a coffee table and turned bowls. This initial foray into Woodcraft ignited a profound and lifelong passion for the medium, marked by outstanding achievements in Woodworking that consistently outshone his performance in other subjects. His grade school crowning achievement—a functioning grandfather clock—remains a testament to his dedication and skill. Despite exploring diverse academic fields such as Architecture and Fine Arts, Woodworking remained the heart of Dave's pursuits.

Passion project
Originally owned by his uncle in 1964 and then passed to his father in 1973, Dave was fortunate to inherit a family heirloom — a 1960 4-door Fleetwood Cadillac. With dreams of restoring this cherished vehicle to its former glory, it spent nine years in a garage before Dave decided to take on the restoration challenge. His initial aim was to return the classic car to its original state. Driven by his three biggest lifelong passions — cars, woodworking, and cats, an audacious idea was conceived: he would rebuild the Cadillac— with a body entirely of wood. "60 Catty" — the name behind Dave’s vision, will be set to drive across Canada in September of 2026, from Cape Spear, Newfoundland, to Tofino, British Columbia. This journey will not only honor his father's legacy but serve as a meaningful way for Dave, as an animal lover, to give back to the community. Throughout his journey, Dave will be raising funds for animal rescues across Canada.
He is currently dedicated to supporting the Georgian Triangle Humane Society through profits made from his unique artisan pieces, purchasable through his e-shop.
